After gaining a law degree from the University of Cologne and completing my preparatory service at the district courts of Wuppertal and Düsseldorf, I worked as a freelancer for the law firm Droste in Düsseldorf. 

In 1997, I was appointed candidate-notary in Düsseldorf. From 1998 to 2001 I worked for the executive board of the Rheinische Notarkammer. Among other things I held editorial responsibility for the Rheinische Notarzeitschrift (RNotZ).

In 2001, I was appointed notary public in Düsseldorf and succeeded Mr Eberhard Martin Jovy in the office of notary public.

In addition, the notarial records and files of Mr Stephan Römer, notary public with office in Düsseldorf-Kaiserswerth, were transferred to me for continued storage.
