When couples divorce, they can call on a notary – together with their respective legal representatives –  as part of the process of reaching an amicable divorce settlement. In particular, the controversial issue of shared ownership of property, but also other questions such as the equal distribution of accrued gains, pension rights adjustments, post-marital maintenance and legal custody can be contractually determined.
